Works great, makes yummy fries!
This thing cuts fries! Works for other veggies as well but we primarily use it for fries. Get the good suction cups with it and it doesn't move at all when cutting. Easy to change the blades and we've used them all with great success. You do have to give it a good healthy quick push, don;t try to "baby" it - you won't get a full-size potato through the smaller grids. If you aren't strong, cut the potato in half and then use this to make the fries. Love the wedge size - works great for frying or pan fried American fries.

Works like a charm.
Once I figured out you can't just sit a potato in there and shred it. You actually have to put the potato directly in the center and voila.

It works for turnips too!! We can a lot of food and this item is used for much more than making fries out of potatoes.

Great cutter. Sometimes we have to 1/4 the potatoes so that it is easier to work the lever. I made a wood base with a lip that hooks over the table edge. That way it is portable, but when using it, the device won't move. We've been using the smallest cutter die to make french fries.

This is a commercial level product which is very well designed. Can even make quick work of sweet potatoes.

Lettuce and eggplant are not "root vegetables" lol. It's cutting blades are stainless steel and the frame is aluminum alloy, not aluminum alloy steel which would self destruct. Aluminum and steel are not alloyed for this reason. There's no "heavy cast iron" either. I understand that the description was written by someone in China and the person has done a much better job than what I usually see. I like the looks of this machine and I'm buying one. I'll give a proper review after I've used it.
