Not strong enough
I did not get a crazy big umbrella for this stand but this thing does not hold it properly. The plastic piece you twist down into the hole does NOT hold my umbrella securely. It should be metal with no wiggle room. When I put my umbrella pole down into it, it very easily could just tip over. I don’t know what to do as I already filled it up.
It Won’t Hold Up On Its Own
I went through all the effort of putting sand and water in it. Putting the sand wasn’t as easy as I thought. I put in my market umbrella and with light wind blowing, I noticed that the umbrella was already bending at the base only a few minutes after installing it! I tried to return and get a refund but the seller had multiple return instructions and the process was too tedious. I ended up buying a table with an umbrella hole for added support, which became an extra expense for me, and using up more space in my small deck. Would I recommend it? NO. Don’t be tempted to buy because of the cheap price. The statement YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR applies to this product.
