This shelf unit is amazing. I am an avid plant collector and with my new move needed creative solution to organizing my plants. This is perfect for my interior (1.5inch) railing and it can move easily outside to my balcony railing. It holds a good amount of weight reliably as well. Definitely considering getting another
I actually really enjoy this hanger. I was a little worried about if it would be sturdy enough for my plants or if it would fit my pots but it does the job! It's good quality and easy(ish) to set up. (The instructions are a bit unclear like most of the reviews say. If it helps anyone, one of the steps they don't mention in the instructions is the flat washer goes on before the bolt and the spring washer goes on top before the wingnut on the railing hanger part.) It fits 6 (3 on top, 3 on bottom) 8" pots like a glove! It wouldn't fit anything above that size though. If you're second-guessing buying it or hesitating, I wouldn't! For the quality and size, the $50 it cost is actually worth it imo.
Easy to put together, I like the adjustable size。
Very nice product with following caveats: Assembly is easy, but written instructions are not very clear. EX: It is not mentioned that the washers are to be used when attaching the over-rail sections to the brackets. Not hard to undo the wingnuts, but would have been more efficient to do right the first time. Also, be sure to leave the top basket's top nut and bolt loose until AFTER the unit is fully assembled and ready to hang as it will not clear the railing if fully built. You don't need tools, but a 'stubby' Phillips screwdriver and small standard wrench make build easier (neither are included). Will easily accommodate three 7.5" pots or 17" planter + 6.5" pot (haven't decided which I'll do yet)--see pics. Take care on height of bottom plants, you have only 11" clearance between bottom of top shelf and top of bottom shelf. This was packaged well, arrived w/o damage of any kind. All parts included. At 8" overall depth, it is easy to maneuver around, and does not interfere with enjoyment of my balcony or access to other planters. As a one-off, $46 might seem a bit pricey, but I paid $38 a piece for two single shelf planter boxes last year (which I used again this year), so comparatively, this is a deal. Additionally, if it holds up as well as the singles have, amortized over time, a really good investment. I recommend without hesitation.
and does the job.
