Looks good and heats well
Looks Real!
Okay: first the good. It doesn't take up much space, and' the flames look real, so it's soothing looking at it, particularly at night, when the effect is more dramatic. Yes, it gives off heat. What I didn't like: the Costway name brand is in very big block letters on the front. But the biggest drawback is getting the legs (plastic - I thought the item was all metal) screwed in. The instructions are less than useless (they refer to the item as a stove, which it isn't), and they need to spell out the placement of the middle screw first. Without that, it's next to impossible to screw the other 2 screws into each leg. Additionally, I am a 5'5" woman, with average size hands. There is so little room to manipulate the screwdriver (e.g., you have to use tweezers to drop the middle screw in place ) that it was very challenging, and I needed the help of a friend holding a flashlight to see what I was doing. I don't see how any man could put this together, because there's not enough room to accommodate larger hands. But overall, I am glad I bought it (have been using it only for a few days) since the flame effect is mesmerizing, calming, and adds charm to my small living room. And the flame can be used alone, without the heat on, year round. It looks lovely in front of my bay windows. Surprisingly, so far, my cat seems indifferent, ha ha!
