plug and play - great projection and heat
I had limited expectations on reviving an unlined fireplace at my mother’s camp cabin. Well, it’s the fireplace was lined, just not safe for a true fire, so instead of a full TV style insert I opted for something smaller. The price point was very reasonable. After cleaning out ashes that were probably 45 years old, it was plug and play. The heater seems well build, had an easy remote control and is 1400w of fake fire and real heat. The cord seems heavy but there is no place to hide it in my set up, but I could attach it to the wall and bricks. It’s 23” with 3 flame settings and a timer. I had no issues with the remote. You can operate it as flame only or adjust the heat as well. I cannot hear it when it is in operation. The best part is the projection of the flames within the inside of the fireplace to give a very nice effect - even better when the lights are dimmed. It’s easy to recommend this log style heater.

Good quality
This electric fireplace log heater is a cool little addition. I put it in my living room. The flames look real enough, and it’s nice I can adjust the brightness and heat with the remote. The timer is handy, and it warms up the room pretty well. Works very well for me so far.

Costway representative - Q:I understand that it's not recommended to not use a power strip or an extension cord but.... I do not have any options at the moment because the heater has the cord coming out from the left side and the cord is only 6' long. It will not reach the closest electrical outlet. I did try using a power strip that has heavier gauge wire than what the heater unit uses. The power strip has 14 gauge and the heater has 16 gauge so I thought it might work but the power strip pops. What about the possibility of using a heavy gauge short extension cord.? I obviously don't want to do anything that could potentially be unsafe but at this point the heating unit is unusable which kind of sucks.
