First of all, let me start by saying, that yes this unit is exactly as advertised and functions amazingly. I bought this to replace the busted Insinkerator Badger 9 in my fixer upper home. Being that I plan on remodeling the kitchen soon, I didn't want to drop hundreds of dollars on a brand name but also not step down from a 3/4 HP disposal. Although not Prime, this unit was shipped in less than a week of me placing the order. The box was intact and all pieces were included. Again I want to make it very clear I am extremely happy with the unit and end result, HOWEVER..... I consider myself quite an apt DIYer having replaced almost all the plumbing in my home to building and entire barn complete with plumbing, electrical and framed out rooms. Before buying the unit I read previous reviews of how bad or hard the install was for others and thought to myself "Well clearly they don't know what they're doing". This install was an absolute nightmare. I could see the intent of the manufacturer, by providing rubber gaskets for the top and bottom of the sink but no matter how much pressure and twisting I did, the ring would not slide on the flange. After slicing my fingers twice on the inner rim (FYI its really sharp) I finally split the bottom gasket ring with a knife and got the drain to stay. Unfortunately though the drain was not longer tightly sealed and leaked all over the bottom of the cabinet when water was applied. The solution: Do it the old fashioned way with another flange kit and putty. I went to the Home Depot, bought an insinkerator flange kit and some Oateys putty. Set me back less than $20 which overall still had me under leading brand name units. Buying those two things, the install took minutes. Also small side notes. The disposal unit has a dishwasher input near the top. No, THIS IS NOT PLUG AND PLAY, I learned the hard way that you still have to drill a hole through the input to allow the dishwasher to drain. The air switch was quite simple, i drilled a hole through the front of the cabinet since i had no place to go up on the counter with it.

Super easy quiet and works great
I was so scared to install this never did it before I was done in 2 hours and I took breaks and YouTubed alot. Never knew of an air switch but it's something u press once and your goodie let it dangle under the sink.

Chops apples nicely.
Used this for my apple chunker on a cider press. It will almost take a full apple at once. Works better if the apple is halfed or quartered. Quite and seems to be powerful.

Quiet and strong
Love it, easy to install except I didn't use the flex drain that came with it. Food pieces filling up inside it would have made more work for me someday I'm sure. Had this a few months and it eats just about anything you toss into it. Came with the air switch and it was needed since this old house never had a disposal before. The switch fit right in the upper corner to the right of the sink and was still inside the sink base but could have put a hole in the top corner of the sink base to the top left corner of the dishwasher area; as an option. Found this unit to be the cost of a name brand 1/2 HP but this does a ton more work than a 1/2 HP unit. Wife is from the Philippines and you need to know they don't have appliances like this yet. She'd freak out whenever I cleared off plates of food into it, worried the drain would clog up. Now she uses it more than we need to. She loves tossing things down the drain for fun I think. But buying this was not tossing funds down the drain. Very pleased with the price and quality.

Very quiet but you need zip ties and loop them around the connection to the bottom of the new drain to the top of the garbage disposal. The vibration will cause to leak.

Quite, powerful and easy installation.
I’m not a handy man. In fact this is my first home and repairs are new to me. My old garbage disposal was leaking from the housing so I ordered this one for the price and the same brand it was currently there. This is the first time I see a GD use an air button to start/stop function besides the power. I followed a YouTube video in how to remove my current GD. I replaced the new GD and used the draining fixtures enclosed in the package to ensure no leaks. Plus it fits better. I didn’t use the new pipes or hoses. I used the one I already had, just a few adjustment in one of the draining pipes. The air button threw me off. I never seen a GD with one. I had to drilled a new hole in the stainless kitchen sink. The clear hose coming from the bottom of the GD is the air button. (See picture )
