Not a Universal Stand

We were so excited to receive this base for our existing cantilever umbrella until we attempted to put it together. We had measured the distance between the bolts and it matched the description. We received the stand, and got the weights filled, only to learn it didn't match. Instead of the hassle to return via Amazon and emptying the weights, we made it work by drilling new holes for our existing umbrella. Sadly, we had to make an extra cut out in the cover to achieve this change, so it's not very attractive anymore. But, it does roll as advertised and seems sturdy. If you purchase, I recommend buying their umbrella despite it not stating that as a requirement. Otherwise, you'll be sorry like we were.

Wonderful umbrella base

We bought this for our purple line 10X10 cantilever umbrella. The wheel jack makes rolling the whole unit very easy. I also appreciate that it has five compartments with BIG openings for filling. This will make it much easier to disassemble for winter storage. The bolt pattern fits perfectly. As other reviewers have indicated, it's a Costway base. We put a small scratch on the base when attaching the umbrella and I am guessing that will wear down over time.

Awesome Umbrella Base

Really love this base. The first one I found that really works. It's extremely sturdy, move easily with a little bit of muscle help. The base was easy to fill with sand and water. Would highly recommend this base for large cantilever style umbrellas!!!

This umbrella stand works flawlessly. It's super heavy once you load it with water or sand+water. Super easy to press the foot pedal to lift it and allow it to roll easily to wherever you want. Press the pedal again, and it settles down with what seems like an iron grip.

Heavy Duty and A "bit" moveable

This is the perfect base for my Purple Leaf 12-foot cantilever patio umbrella! Black cover is even large enough to sit a pot of flowers on it. The multiple, separate containers are easy to fill with sand and water to get the necessary weight to hold such a large umbrella while still easy to carry and put in to place. Once filled the wheels allow for moving but I wouldn't suggest moving it great distances unless You remove the umbrella itself. This thing is HEAVY!

It takes some time to get here but this is great value for the money. Being able to move our large cantilevers is extremely convenient. I recommend confirming the measurements for the base and consider purchasing longer bolts

Update: once we had a shop machine a base adapter we love this base. If they had included an adapter plate to make it more universal this would be a 5 star item without question.

Great stand, won’t rust, looks great!

This is one heavy weighted umbrella stand for its size and not being made of metal. Glad it won’t rust and make marks on my new transcend deck. Looks great and color matches our cast aluminum table perfectly. May buy another one for the table at the pool. Great item.

Best Umbrella Base

Easy to set up and using with my Purple Leaf 13" Umbrella. Easy to move around and the base is rock solid even when windy outside. I filled it with sand and added water on top, there is a lever that can be used to move the umbrella around, and it's really easy to utilize.

Best HEAVY cantilever umbrella stand

A friend of mine had the large name brand umbrella stand and I was there when we put it together. It basically comes in two halves and has a small opening the size of a hose to dump water in. The holes are small enough you could never put sand in it or if you did, you've never get it out, and it had no wheels to move afterwards. Once you fill it, you don't move it. I live in a windy area so I needed a heavy base. That name brand base holds something around a max of 240lbs. I'm going to mate this with a 12' umbrella in a high wind area, I need something heavy. This costway umbrella stand is SO MUCH better than the name brand stand. It's a little bulkier size wise, but it's so much more functional. First, it comes with 5 containers with LARGE openings. I was able to fill them with sand, use my fist through the hole to pack the sand in, and continue to fill. Plus, because there are five containers, you can move them individually without killing yourself. These five containers sit in a steal frame that has a lever to engage the wheels. After you put the containers in in the frame, you put the cover on, attach the umbrella and you can engage the wheels for final positioning. 4 bolts and I had no issues attaching the name brand, let's call it "orange tree branch" umbrella. The wheels role relatively well over a composite deck even with the 1/4" gap between boards. The cover looks nice as it's solid with no holes for filling contents. It's HEAVY and it does a great job holding the umbrella safely, even in a windy environment. Oh, and the stand is almost 1/2 what it costs to buy the name brand stand. Buying this stand is a no brainer.

This is the one you want!

I did a ton of research on these umbrella bases and this is the best one I found. The sand/water fill holes are huge so its easy to fill, the total weight was among the highest of all the all of the umbrella bases,. Best of all it is easy to move by stepping on the foot lever which raises the base up and locks in that position, move it wherever you want it and then push the foot lever again and it sits back down. Very clean look and perfect design. It is pricey but it's worth the extra money.

The best umbrella base.

If I could give this product five stars I would. I have gone through so many bases that just did not cut it for gulf coast winds. This umbrella usually ends up in the water. Not the case with this base! The manufacturer was kind enough to send me a attachment for my pole too. It is a heavy roll two handed. I am only 5’1” but can manage it even with the umbrella fully open. There is no tipping while rolling. The handle slides in and locks when your done rolling. Really well thought out product. Heavy, sturdy and as you can see my umbrella is quite large.

Better than he name brand purple leaf stand at less money

The stand I didn't even know was from costway but it exceeded my expectations. It was heavier than the name brand stands and included a nice engaging wheel mechanism the more expensive version didn't have. Also the openings for the sand/water are massive comparatively, making filling and emptying easier. The top cover comes off and there are 5 (3 large, 2 small) containers with large openings, wide enough to put a fist in plus a lot more, that you use to fill it with water or sand. Because of this modular design, it's easier to disassemble for winter storage for those in freezing areas. It weighs over 300lbs when using sand and gives me the piece of mind that my expensive purple leaf umbrella won't topple over with a gust of wind.
