This knife set is durable and sturdy it comes with a sturdy wooden knife holder, the knives are very sharp and cuts food good. They also have a nice design!
This knife set blew me away. All the knives looked beautiful. The design of the blades, the handles, and how sharp they were; just makes it so elegant. Another great thing about these knives was how lightweight they were. It felt great to hold them. The grip was easy and it didn't feel weird in my hand. Sometimes knives with handles, I find have this off-putting feeling. Some knife handles can feel bulky when that is the last thing you want to feel when using a knife. These knives, however, were the complete opposite. Also, the block was great as it came labeled so you knew where to put the knives. I love this set a lot. The only thing that was a little off was the color of the handles. They weren't as dark as what was pictured, but it was lighter by one shade. Other than that, this was perfect.
I had recently ordered a personal blender by Costway that I was really loving. So when I saw this knife set pop up, I decided to give it a try. I had read the previous reviews, where someone had said that the knives weren’t that sharp upon arrival. So I also ordered a pull through knife sharpener. This set includes a sharpener, but I have NO idea how to use it. I think I’ve seen video footage of chefs sharpening their knives on that type of long sharpener, but it seems like you would need a class to know how to do it properly. Being naturally cautious about flinging sharp tools about, I decided to go with the simpler and easier option of ordering a pull through sharpener. These knives are individually packaged when you receive them, with a little silicone piece at the point of each knife, so it’s easy to remove the plastic packaging. I washed them all by hand, and then inserted them into the block. After receiving the pull through sharpener, I went ahead and sharpened the larger knives (that was a revelation to me- why hadn’t I bought a pull through sharpener sooner?). So to be clear, I’ve never bought a knife set in a block. So I have no idea how this one compares to others. Personally, I really like the way these knives look aesthetically, and they have a nice weight to them. The handles seem joined well to me, but again- I am the furthest thing you’ll find to an expert. I can only speak to my own experience, in which these are really nice quality, nicely crafted knives in a handsome kit/block. I agree with the other reviewer about the necessity of sharpening them when you receive them (I used a box of grape tomatoes to test how well they cut, and they all cut beautifully after being sharpened). Other than that, I’m really enjoying having this set!
These knives are not very sharp- you will want to make sure you have a tool to sharpen these or know someone who can do this for you. This block is elegant and slim. The dark wood has a nice smooth finish and on the block, in small back writing, is the name of each knife below it's slot. The knives slide smoothly in and out of the block. The knife handles are a beautiful wood and smooth. I had company over and several remarked about how "beautiful" the knives were (but also how they were not as sharp as someone would expect new knives to be. The "sharpener" is not an actual sharpener, but will remove any metal burrs that appear on the knives after a time. It is a beautiful set and looks pretty on my counter.
Knives have remained sharp and without rust. The blades are sturdy and fit into the block nicely.
