Wooden Kitchen Chairs with Cane Back Rubber Wood Frame and Padded Seat

Love these chairs. They are comfortable, support my back, and are easy to clean up if spilled. I have been using them for several months now.

I spent quite some time searching for dining room chairs. I wanted a beautiful, natural colored chair that was comfortable. I found these and took a chance. I'm so glad I did. They are beautiful, well made, and super comfortable! I plan on getting the matching bar stools to complete the look. What a find!

They are pleasing to the eye and highly functional, but they are simply not on the same level of quality of materials and workmanship as the originals (or any earlier HM chair designs) – and certainly not at the same level of price. For the price you get a very elegant chair – although I’m not sure how durable the stitching, faux leather and hollow bent steel legs will be. My original Eames Lounge Chair is over 50 years old and still looks as striking now as it did when it was new. My original leather Equa Lounge Chair is about the same age, minus the armrests, and remains my preferred seating. I’ve tried many chairs over the decades and none have ever come close to matching the look of my oldest HM Chair. This makes their high price seem a bit of a bargain in a price-to-age comparison. However, I think in some ways they will be comparable in value for money. They certainly won’t last as long, but with the lower price, the age-to-age comparison probably won’t make much of a difference. They are relatively easy to assemble if assembled at table or bench height. It only takes a few minutes, but it would be much shorter if you had a second person to steady the parts while you assemble the legs and attach the leg assembly to the chair. Install and tighten the 10 screws, and you have a chair that is ready to use. I wish they would have provided washers for under the bolt heads, but they didn't, so I prepared my own. To make up for this, they included extra bolts of all sizes, as well as an Allen key for tightening. All in all, this is a solid, durable No. 4 chair that will be a pleasure to look at for years to come.
