Awesome sled
This was a gift for my 11 year old grand daughter in Vermont. Needless to say, she loves it and gets a lot of use out of it. My son said it was a good quality, and they’re all using it.
Good quality and fun
Bought for our grandkids and they love it. In the right conditions sled can go pretty fast. So far the quality seems great and is holding up to three crazy kids using it. Would recommend.
New and improved snow racer
I had a GT snow racer as a kid and wanted a similar experience for my kids. There were some safety and control issues with the GT one that I had, like too great of a range of steering and flimsy construction. I was looking for something a lot more substantial and safer for my kids.One thing I like about this sled is the strong steel frame. There is no way I can visualize this sled is bending or breaking. It can also easily handle the weight of an adult, unlike plastic frames. The hollow frame and mesh upper helps keep the overall sled lightweight and easy to pull to your sledding destination.The front ski is plastic which has good flex for shock absorption over bumps. They are very smooth to reduce friction. Both the front ski and 2 side tracks have a concave shape on the bottom, which will help with steering and control. That is another design improvement over the old flat style that sleds used to have. The front ski is steered by the handle bars and the range of steering is about 45 degrees to each side. I see this as a safety feature to prevent the sled flipping due to over-steering. That was one thing I recall about my old GT racer that I didn’t like. You could turn the front track completely perpendicular, making it unstable. This is a sled that you ride on your belly, which lowers your center of gravity to prevent tipping as well. The steering handles have claws at the end which serve as brakes to slow you down.It is a comfortable sled for both kids and adults. At 5’7” I find the sled to be a sufficient length for my body to fit. The mesh upper conforms to your body for comfort and also has a bit of spring to it to reduce shock over bumps. It is a great sled for the entire family.
