The wife wanted one, so I got one as a gift and she loves it. We use it quite frequently to make fries in the airfryer. The stainless cutting plates and blades are sharp and easy to clean. The handle and frame however are made from a softer cast metal and it gets down right nasty. It corrodes or tarnishes leaving a black coating that has to be wiped off with paper towels. Passed that we love it.
We have purchased Chester version in the past and they always broke. This one is great it is very heavy duty. My husband mounted it on a block of wood so it is stable. We have used it to make homemade French fries and it work great and it was super easy to clean
I am not a weak guy, but if you put a large, raw potato in this thing you had better be ready to push They could have done better job of leveraging the handle to exert more pressure on the potato with less pushing. A log would go through his just as easily. Hey! Kindling maker. Also, important to note, when cutting a potato, hold the potato up out of the trough a little. This keeps the potato from binding in between the blade and the bottom of the trough. You'll see. May be useful to microwave the potato for a minute or two before trying to cut, but I haven't tried that yet. Easy to clean. Painful to store. Might help if the handle came off easily for storage.
there is no blades just a peace of stainless still in order to cut you have to cut averything in smaller piece's befor you can ron them through the machine yo might as well cut wedges your self becouse there is no way to run a whole potato through. I should not have bought it!!!!!
We had this when I was a kid. I loved helping cut homemade fries. Awesome product. Just what I wanted.
