Costway was the only place I could find that had this movable umbrella base in stock. I had never ordered anything from Costway before so was a bit skeptical, especially on the delivery date since website said should arrive within 2 to 5 days but nothing precise for my zip code. Fortunately, my skepticism was unfounded. I placed order on Sunday and the base arrived at my Indiana address on Tuesday. I was amazed, and the base turned out to be even better than I expected. What was better than expected was that the base has five removable compartments with large openings, allowing them to be easily filled with water, sand, or a combination, and also easily emptied if needed. The main reason I ordered the base was to be able to move my 10ft Abba Vienna Cantilever umbrella on my composite deck. I am happy to report it moves easily, even with the base fully loaded. All and all, I am very pleased with the base and with Costway.

This is one heavy weighted umbrella stand for its size and not being made of metal. Glad it won’t rust and make marks on my new transcend deck. Looks great and color matches our cast aluminum table perfectly. May buy another one for the table at the pool. Great item.

A friend of mine had the large name brand umbrella stand and I was there when we put it together. It basically comes in two halves and has a small opening the size of a hose to dump water in. The holes are small enough you could never put sand in it or if you did, you've never get it out, and it had no wheels to move afterwards. Once you fill it, you don't move it. I live in a windy area so I needed a heavy base. That name brand base holds something around a max of 240lbs. I'm going to mate this with a 12' umbrella in a high wind area, I need something heavy. This costway umbrella stand is SO MUCH better than the name brand stand. It's a little bulkier size wise, but it's so much more functional. First, it comes with 5 containers with LARGE openings. I was able to fill them with sand, use my fist through the hole to pack the sand in, and continue to fill. Plus, because there are five containers, you can move them individually without killing yourself. These five containers sit in a steal frame that has a lever to engage the wheels. After you put the containers in in the frame, you put the cover on, attach the umbrella and you can engage the wheels for final positioning. 4 bolts and I had no issues attaching the name brand, let's call it "orange tree branch" umbrella. The wheels role relatively well over a composite deck even with the 1/4" gap between boards. The cover looks nice as it's solid with no holes for filling contents. It's HEAVY and it does a great job holding the umbrella safely, even in a windy environment. Oh, and the stand is almost 1/2 what it costs to buy the name brand stand. Buying this stand is a no brainer.

This base was exactly what I was looking for in conjunction with our 12’ Purple Leaf Umbrella. I feel this is much better than the comparable PL base which you have to bend down and crank to move the wheels up/down (and it also costs 2x as much as this one). The retractable foot pedal on this model is way better for practicality and based on photos this is appears to otherwise be an identical product, again for half the price. I highly recommend this umbrella base!

It’s super easy to put together and use. The containers have large opening’s, which makes it easy to add and remove material. I filled each container with a little more than .5 cu ft of gravel, which seems to be plenty heavy to keep the umbrella in place. Step on the pedal once and the base locks in place. Roll the umbrella where you want and step on the pedal again set it in place.
