Faux wood looks fantastic!
The quality is better than I expected. I really like the vintage wood design on the faux metal. I thought it was going to be cheesy, but it actually looks really good. The pots also work well together to create a neat raised planter design.
New Garden Beds
They are easy to assemble, sturdy and look great
Raised bed
Good quality, very satisfied with this purchase
Easy to assemble, great size, durable, highly recommended, just fill with soil and it snaps shut
highly recommend these. My only concern is that the center crossbar is not strong enough and tends to bend if just filled with dirt. The height is perfect for people with limited mobility to avoid bending, so I made them tall, wide, and deep. The trick to filling these is to support them with wood strips at the bottom, which also limits the amount of dirt you need to fill. Use cardboard as a weed barrier and flatten the bottom as it decomposes. Then support the sides and bottom with thick wood blocks, which minimizes any bending issues. I also put some kind of adhesive on all the screw-on areas and use the stakes that come with them. We've used pretty much any wood, like chopped branches, chopped railroad ties, untreated pallet wood/chopped 4x4 and 2x4 boards, sprinkled with leaves, and any other organic yard waste we have on hand. This will fill the bin about 25% full and it shouldn't have sunk much by the end of the first year. Then put another 25% of trash/used dirt in after that and put a layer of compost on top of it. Then you need about 20 large bags of garden or potting soil (garden soil/topsoil is cheaper, so you can use 5 bags of potting soil as the top layer and 15 bags of topsoil underneath to save money, or use all garden soil/topsoil if that’s what you plan to grow. You can always amend the top half foot of soil as it settles). I bought 10 bags (3 for the Monarch Waystation, 2 for the Beach Sunflowers, and 5 for the Mixed Vegetable/Herb Garden) and we used this method of filling and the plants are all thriving and have plenty of room for their roots. Add some ollas for easy watering and voila – a low maintenance family garden… We bought the “white” one but it’s closer to a creamy off-white, which I’m not mad about to be honest. It still matches the house and property. But if you want pure white, know that these will have a more creamy/off-white look and will stand out against pure white objects. The beds even match the pattern of the garage siding, so I like that too. I do plan on getting another one to put on the concrete driveway to make it more like a planter. Just know that if you are not installing on a dirt ground you can just add more drainage to the bottom. We laid down wood beams/large branches and put the cardboard on top instead of the other way around so it drained easily. But you can also use lots of large rocks just like you would with the plastic container pots but use larger rocks or small boulders. It works just as well. We put one of the raised beds in the back on two larger boulders that were buried in the ground and we can't remove them and it doesn't block the roots of the plants and it fills up the space to save soil, is good for drainage, and will always be there so you can do that if you want and turn your above ground raised beds into oversized potting containers. Happy gardening!
Excellent customer service
We love this planter! Their customer service is also great. Our set did not come with washers and they contacted us immediately and refunded us the money we spent on the washers at Home Depot. I appreciate their quick response and willingness to refund the cost of the missing parts. All in all, our garden looks great and is very sturdy.
