Enough people have commented on the poor state of the assembly instructions that I don't need to add my comments. But here are the revised assembly instructions that will certainly make your task easier:Step 1: Ignore step 1 of the instructions.Step 2: Place the seat of your new chair upside down on something like a bar stool, with the front of the seat facing you, and sit in front of the bar stool. A kitchen chair would be a good choice.Step 3: Loosely attach the armrests to the seat; (I emphasize loosely because the alignment of the bolt holes is far from exact, and if you don't keep it loose enough when aligning, you'll never get all the bolts in place.)Step 4: Loosely attach the backrest to the armrests.Step 5: Tighten all of the bolts that secure the armrests to the seat and backrest, being careful not to slide the Allen wrench sockets on the bolts out. They're made of soft metal (as is the included Allen wrench), so it's easy to slide out the socket or the wrench - or both.Step 6: Now go back and follow step 1 of the included assembly instructions. If you install that heavy base-mount assembly first, it will be nearly impossible to balance the seat while trying to insert the bolts. Also, when you try to get the bolts through the seat and into the armrests, the base piece is forever in the way. Step 7: Place the seat on the bracket. Voila! We'll never know why they thought it necessary to devote an entire page (50%) of the instruction manual to pictures showing how the assembled seat fits on the bracket. Still, I must admit that after I assembled the first 4 seats and used them for a few days, my wife asked me to order 2 more. So, I guess she likes them. :>)
