Summary: The Bad: - Large female coupler made testing difficult (see description) The Good: - Cheap set for number of adapters - adapters use standard air line fittings Description: I bought this set primarily to do a compression test on a 6.5L GM (Detroit) that I was dropping into my suburban. When using the tester the female coupler on the gauge line would not fit past the exhaust manifold on several cylinders (I think that it was 3 that we could not test). The male glow plug insert had no problem threading in, but we could not connect the gauge to it. On the up side the set uses standard air line fittings. One of my brothers was able to take a smaller female coupler that he had and make a short extension to get to 2 more of the cylinders. For the final cylinder I just removed the exhaust manifold (since the engine was out it was easy to do anyway). I docked one star because of the female adapter being too large to use with the exhaust manifold on. (probably not a huge deal for most, but I did find it a little annoying when they could have used a smaller adapter.) My brother has an old tractor that he wants to compression test (International I believe). If we get to doing that I will update my post with that experience.
