Wow! This piano bench is such an answer to prayer, that I ordered TWO of them! I am a college Prof and while every piano where I teach is a Steinway, sadly, there were either no benches, or sad, falling apart dangerous and embarrassing benches or chairs to sit on. So, I went on a hunt and was SO pleased to find these! I purchased one for the Steinway in my office and one for the Steinway in the choral rehearsal hall. The finish is glowing, shiny ebony and matches the pianos perfectly! My husband put the legs on, which is a standard thing one does if you purchase a piano bench. I am SO impressed that this is REAL WOOD, not pressed sawdust. There are even little feet sturdily attached to the bottom of the legs. The upholstered seats are SO comfortable and understatedly lovely. FABULOUS!!!

Nice stool

Very happy with the stool. I wanted one that was big enough for two people as I spend time with my two daughters helping them learn. Nice and comfy and the storage underneath is perfect for sheet music and a few books I use regularly.Easy to assemble and it has little rubber pads on the bottom which are perfect protection for hard floors.

I started Piano at 60 and needed a good bench for my old bones

I've always wanted to play piano, but just never found the time. Now that I'm retired, I have enough time to devote to the instrument. I purchases a new Yamaha PSR, some DVD lessons, and lots of song books, but when I got it all home I realized that I'd forgotten a bench. So I started my search for the right one, and I found here at Amazon.com.What I needed was something wide enough to allow for me and any of my grandchildren to sit side by side. I also needed a bench that would hold no less than 275. I'm just a bit over 6'2" and I am a bit over 235lbs. With a grandkid, though, I'll easily hit the 275+ range. This bench met all of those needs.I also wanted some storage under the piano. I've played guitar for over 20 years, so most of my music is stored on some dedicated bookshelves. With a piano, though, it's helpful to have those books you use most right under your butt. That way, when company drops by unexpected, I can scoop the books from the piano top and stuff them in the seat without worry.The last major issue I wanted was something that would look good next to my new Yamaha keyboard. I didn't get the most expensive keyboard, but it is certainly a nice one. So, I needed a bench that would work well for the keyboard (height and movability) but also one that would compliment the rest of the room. I play in our living room, which means the setup will be seen by everyone that comes into our house. This bench did the trick for me, and I think it looks great next to the piano on an open wall leading the hallway.

Easy to put together. Sturdy. Useful.

Pretty good but has a minor defect.

Overall, this is a good bench. Pretty comfortable, looks like with the Shiney black paint and leather cushion seat. I gave it 4 stars only for the fact that one of the legs wasn't cut properly and doesn't quite fit in the slot. Something about it is uneven and it wobbles but for whatever reason it doesn't do it when you sit in it. Otherwise I would have exchanged it or returned it. It has plenty of storage for books and stays open at the 90 angle. Overall I'm satisfied with it.

Gorgeous! I was very surprised at the quality and how nice it is. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and elegant looking piano bench.

Great value, nicely made.

The buttons are hard, domed shank buttons. These can hurt the hiney when you're balanced on them. I used the original vinyl for a template and changed to white. Instead of the buttons, I cut cardboard rounds & covered with white vinyl circles, gathered the circles on upholstery thread. No more butt pains. Great bench. Storage for winter gloves, keys, etc. Entry complete. Extra seating when grandkids are at the table too.
