The first two I ordered arrived broken and the seller very kindly replaced them free. My handyman was able to install the new shades, although he had a bit of trouble with the instructions at first, now I am able to have some shade over what was a very hot part of the deck. Thank you very much.
For Concrete Walls
I did not read that this is meant to be bolted to cinder blocks or concrete walls. I was hoping to put it into wood but that didn't work out. It does seem to be pretty solid and long-lasting. It will last forever as long as it is in its box.
Looks great
The Awning looks good and works good. You can mount it to any surface but I suggest it be a sturdy mount because it is not light. In order to secure it on my hardy plank siding, I added a piece of wood board for a sturdy structure. I mounted mine by myself in an hour so anyone can do it if you are determined. Two people would be better though because it will be more balanced.
Offers substantial shade
Overall pretty nice, the installation instructions are a bit lacking but that’s par for the course. the paint can scratch pretty easily when mounting, touch up paint would be a nice addition. On a positive note there is quite a bit of adjustment room for the angle of the extended awning, so this can be mounted just over a standard door and still have enough room for my 6’2” frame to stand straight under the far end. So far worth the money.Love!! Retraction is easy.
