It gets even bigger once you're inside!
It's much bigger than I thought it would be! I'm 5'7" and had been worried about the space since the tub is 55" and they recently removed my beloved built-in tub. I'm happy to say, though, that I can stretch my legs completely straight and lean in the tub with the water up to my shoulders! I recently ordered the bath pillow (shown in the picture) on Costway because I thought it was a little slippery, but later discovered that was just an issue with my bubble bath oil.
