Most buyers appreciated the shed’s affordability, decent sturdiness once assembled, and practical features like lockable doors and skylights. Common concerns included thin metal panels, challenging assembly requiring patience and help, and the need for a level, stable base. Customer service was frequently praised. Overall, sentiment is positive for budget-conscious users seeking basic outdoor storage.
I ordered two. The first one took two days, the second one only one day. Read the instructions carefully. Follow them and you will have no problem.
I've put together a lot of these metal sheds over the past 40 years, and they're not hard to put together. You just need a lot of patience. And I happen to enjoy the process. I received my 3x5 for my tool shed, and everything was in great shape. The only problem was the missing latch mechanism, so I emailed the company and within a few hours I received a FedEx tracking number for a replacement part. I was impressed with their customer service. So I went ahead and put the shed together (here's a little tip: use a hair dryer to heat and remove the protective film on the panels). I didn't have any problems aligning the holes. But when my replacement arrived a few days later, I was surprised to find that it was a brand new shed. It was clearly stuffed back into the box by someone who had returned it, but I didn't care. I just wanted to remove the latch. All in all, I'm very happy with my shed. It fits in with our cabin, is tucked under the carport, anchored to the concrete, and is filled with rakes and shovels. It's no problem at all. But I'm a retired guy with a lot of free time and I love to do this kind of stuff. If you have less time and patience, I'd recommend going with something a little simpler.
The instructions could be improved and were confusing at times. The instructions say not to build on a windy day. But even a light breeze can cause problems. The building is very unstable at first because you have to get all the corners fixed and they have very little support. Any breeze can blow it down. If you don't have time to fix the roof that day, be sure to plan to finish all the sides (the construction will definitely take longer than the instructions say). If no wind is expected, you can stop first. The instructions say it takes 3-4 people to build. However, my husband and I did it with just the two of us. Some parts were tricky but doable. There is a film attached to the parts. We didn't notice it at first. This film needs to be removed and it takes a lot of time to remove. The windows can be installed on any side, which is good. Once the roof is up and all the parts are secured, it is actually very solid and durable. Our house is made of wood so it can be fastened to something. Don't want it to blow down. Overall, the house is worth the money. The money saved went into doing it yourself, which is not an easy task. The house looks beautiful. We will add some framing inside as it is not very secure against the interior wall. We will definitely buy again and may buy in other areas in the future. The price can't be beat and it looks great too!
We have to admit... this was probably the best experience I've had buying a product on costway. A few spots on a couple of panels were scratched and I went to Home Depot to get touch up paint and it didn't work out that well. I wasted $20 on a quart of paint from Home Depot. So I contacted the supplier and they refunded me $30 right away. That was awesome. So I was able to cover the cost of the paint... Other than that, in the process of trying to match the scratches and getting some touch up paint from Home Depot with no success, I lost a part on the door. I used that to match the paint... I contacted him and they sent me a replacement for free. That was awesome too. So the customer service from these guys is absolutely amazing. The best I've ever experienced. As far as the product itself, I bought the 10x14... Yeah, everything is very intuitive. I think the only thing that's a little annoying is having to peel the plastic off all the steel panels, but you know... it's a given and if there was no plastic on the steel panels, there would obviously be more scratches. My only complaint about the design is that because the design is great, there are no issues except for one thing... and that's the ridge cap. I think the ridge cap should be screwed to the top from the middle, not just at the ends. I think it should be put on when you put the roof up…because the way they do it is you put the left side of the roof up first and then the right side and vice versa, and then when those are both up, you slide the roof cap on top and then attach it to the ends. But I live in Florida, and we get hurricanes here, and I'm sure if you're anywhere that there's wind occasionally, four screws, two on each end, are not going to hold the ridge cap in place. So I went to the hardware store and bought some roofing screws that have rubber seals on them, that are about an inch and a half long, self-tapping screws, and I could get about 5 feet in from the edge. I could reach in from each edge, which is about the farthest I could get in. But I felt that with these, if there was a severe storm, I would most likely not lose the cap. Because once you put the left and right panels of the roof up, you can't get to the middle of the roof unless you have some kind of scaffolding that you can put on the roof and then climb up to get to the center of the roof. So if you are going to screw the ridge cap in the middle with your own screws, I would recommend putting one side of the ridge cap on first and then putting the screws on, and then putting the left side of the roof on after the ridge cap is installed...but the instructions say to assemble the entire ridge cap from front to back and then slide it on. So that was my only issue with the design. The other issue I had was that in addition to the small scratches they provided, I scratched them a few times myself, which was easy to do because the scratches were so thin. I kept thinking that I live in Florida and there is a lot of salt in the air, and my other shed rusted very quickly, and I just wanted to make sure every scratch was covered...My only suggestion would be that they should provide a spray can for touch ups given the colors they have. They should provide a small spray can of paint that matches the paint exactly for touch ups. That would be awesome! So, other than the ridge cap design issue and not being able to match the touch up paint, those are my only issues. But, they refunded me $30 for the scratches and then sent me an extra piece that they didn't have to send right away for the door bottom, and after that this company became my favorite. I have already purchased one and I will be purchasing another one for another property on the other side of the yard so I will definitely continue to use their products as their customer service is the real deal. As for future designs I think the next display will be shorter and this one was really long and I will definitely keep the ridge cap in mind the next time I put a roof on. All in all they definitely deserve five stars...
Just what I wanted. Looks good.
