We used our hoist to power a homemade stair lift for our large 14 year old, elderly dog. The lift box was about ~120lbs, our dog was ~120lbs, and the stair run was about 14' off the ground and 20' off of our porch. This unit ran 6-8 times per day for 2 years in all weather/seasons, at a ~40' round trip for each run, lifting and lowing about 250lbs each time. This winch never let us down or left our dog stuck, not even once.I did need to replace the heavily lifting worn cable at about 16 months - but about 30 minutes of labor and $30 bucks at the hardware store for a new run of 5/32" coated cable, and we were back up and running with no issues. This unit gave us 2 extra years with our pet when there were no other options for him to negotiate our stairs. We highly recommend this unit.

Used this electric hoist pulling straight load of approx 270 lbs consisting of two kayaks and all their gear in a self-made platform lift. Has worked since install Dec 2019.

Good quality for light duty work

I used this in conjunction with two lift straps and a keeper strap to raise my Terra Trike off of the garage floor so that I could park my car in the garage again . The combination works extremely well. This is a very light duty application as the trike weighs less than 50 pounds with all extra equipment attached. The hoist works smoothly and has no trouble lifting light duty loads. Installation would have been easier if the metal bar suggested in the intructions had been included or at least offered as an option. I had to source a substitute bar and engineer an attachment scheme to the rafters in my garage. Fortunately for me I had knowledgeable neighbors who did the hard work.

Easy to install. Works well. The controller is a little stiff making jerky motion but nothing horrible.
