Purchased as a step for my bed. Seems to do the job. The only issue I can see, for those who use it for it's intended purpose (step exercise), is the risers do not lock into place. Not into the step, or with each other. If you're doing light impact exercises, it's probably adequate. I think a high impact routine might carry a risk of the step slipping off the risers.
