Compact but really useful

This plant stand is perfect! Very stylish, not that hard to assemble, functional and sturdy. It is pretty small and the picture doesn’t portray that very well. But it fits on my narrow apartment balcony and holds my succulent collection very well. The stand was packaged and arrived on time also. I would definitely recommend this plant stand especially if you’re looking to maximize your space.

Terrible instructions, had to look at the photos on the listing to put together. Once that was done, it's great, looks awesome, supports all my plants. Good shelf heights.

But it looks like they have improved them

I was nervous about the instructions after reading other reviews. But it looks like they have improved them! Each piece is labeled with a letter in both a key and the instructions now. I did find it useful to actually label the pieces with Post-Its. From start to finish including sorting/labeling the components I had this shelf built in less than 40 minutes. You need a screw driver and an allen wrench (but the wrench is included). Definitely worth the purchase, this will be perfect for my balcony. It holds way more than I thought it would!

Easy directions. Was missing 2 holes for screws, but I found it was fine without them. I also cracked a piece of wood by tightening it too much. Overall, I would buy this again, but it isn't high quality, but serves it's purpose. Also, it is not as cedar colored as the pictures represent. It is much lighter. That was a bit of a let down, but I can always paint it if it ends up clashing.

Good looking - hard to put together.

I'm only deducting one star because the instructions that come with this stand are pure crap. Thank goodness for other reviews where people have posted amended instructions because this could have taken me another hour or so. It took about 45 minutes after I found better instructions and with my husband's help. It's a good looking stand. BEWARE: WEAR GLOVES TO ASSEMBLE! I got several splinters just unpacking and trying to line up the pieces.

Not that difficult... here's some help

Well, I read all the reviews and thought, how hard can this be? As the others have expressed, the instructions are a joke. I've scanned them and attached to this review for your amusement. The level of detail on the drawings, as well as much of the (illegible) print appears to be a 5th generation copy of what may have once been an original drawing, and is completely useless. I ended up going to the original listing on Amazon, and blowing up the photo of the completed product. From there I determined which parts went where, and then, which to assemble first. Here is the parts list in easy-to-understand lingo - * Two back legs. These are the only ones with recessed holes cut in all the way down the sides, so the finished screw heads will be countersunk, below the surface of the wood when finished. This is necessary because the back folds tightly inside the front legs. They are also a little shorter than the two front legs. * Two front legs. These are the slightly longer legs, and only have three tiny holes drilled in the edge, and one hole at the very end for a hinge/pivot. * Three front braces. These are the pieces with one hole at each end, but on the face of the wood. So if you're holding the piece of wood up with one end in each hand, you could see the holes in the ends. * Three back braces. These are the pieces with one hole IN each end. If you're holding the piece up in front of you, you won't see any holes; you have to look squarely at each actual end to see the hole. * And finally, the three shelves. One is 7 inches, one is 11, and one is 15 inches deep. 1 - First, I laid out the back pieces on the kitchen table. The top of the pieces can be identified by the holes at one end. These will be the pivot/hinge. The outside can be identified by the larger holes. (See my attached photos.) The screw heads will fit inside of these larger holes when tightened. 2 - Using the screws with the Allen heads, and with the big countersunk holes facing out, I attached all three back pieces. Just put all the screws in until the wood pieces are just touching each other, so you still have about a half turn until they are tight. (I did not snug/tighten any screws at all until it was fully assembled and standing.) 3 - Attach the shelves. The top nearest the hinge/pivot is obviously the smallest shelf, and so on. The back is now complete. 4 - At this point I connected the front legs to the back structure using the two connector bolts. These should be obvious, there are only two of them. This is the pivot point. Make sure the bigger hole on the ends of these front legs are facing out, and you should see three tiny holes in the edge of each of the legs, facing front. 5 - Next, I connected the front cross braces to the front legs using the phillips/cross headed screws. They will screw into the tiny holes on the front face of those front legs. This is where the shelves lie. I started at the top, and since the whole assembly was still lying on my table, I flipped each shelf up while I attached the front braces. Tighten these now. 6 - Stand it up and tighten everything else. Be careful not to get crazy... it's only thin bamboo, and the shelves have to be able to pivot to fold up. That's it. Laying it out actually took the longest, but I was done assembling it and high-fiving my wife in under 15 minutes. My overall impression is that it's a fairly well-designed piece, and should last quite a while. Mine is outside on the pool deck, and will be exposed to the South Florida sun, so who knows. But it came already coated with polyurethane or lacquer, so I guess that's a plus. I was also surprised at the size... this is not a large piece. For some reason I thought it would be bigger. The shelves are 7, 11, and 15 inches deep, width is about 2 feet of usable shelf space, and the whole thing stands just over 3 feet tall. Overall, my wife is very pleased. I hope this review helps others... good luck!

Nice rack. a bit smaller than I expected but it fits well where I wanted it and my wife loves it. I attached a couple of LED grow lights to the bottom of the shelves and my wife has already started our summer garden.

They even had to drill a hole, but was able to build it in a hour or so. It was really simple and my gift-receiver loved it very much. It is smaller than it looks, but it is a nice looking shelves. Great for starter planters.
