Little frustrating but much more awesome.

Very very nice. Except that I have to tune it over and over everytime I set it down. I'm not sure if the nobs are loose or not, but it's somewhat frustrating. But I do love it and it is very easy to handle and learn a bunch of songs to play on it! I'm not only new to the uke but also just any instrument, and I think this is a good way to start and get a feel for learning chords and how to handle other, and larger, string instruments similar to it. And it's super portable, it even comes with a pick, a sort of plastic-y fabric case and a strap to hook onto it! Besides the repetitive tuning needed I would definitely buy this again for someone just starting in music or the uke. Not bad at all.

Good starting ukulele, It's working fine so far.

Bought 2 of these sweet little ukelekes for my daughters and my niece (ages 4 & 9) for Christmas. The girls love these little instruments and have been playing with them almost exclusively ever since. My niece was motivated to learn the strum patterns and chords on You Tube tutorials so she can play some tunes. She's doing an awesome job picking up this instrument very quickly and is well on her way to mastering her 1st real song. but my daughter just mimics her cousin every move which is pretty darn cute! my daughter isn't as gentle as her cousin, The sound quality of both have been great and are very pleasant to hear for hours in end. When you think about it, you simply can't beat the price when you consider that most toys aren't even this economical.

If you find that there is no sound, just tighten the screw on the head of the machine a little, the sound is quite good, the children like it very much.

Not bad for 20 bucks.

The sound quality is okay. It needs constant tuning to get to a pretty tone. But the tuning keys are good quality. If you fiddle with them they keep the tone longer than another uke l have. The care on painting isnt there. That's not dirt in the image its totally smudged paint. The nylon threads are nice. It's SUPER thin wood and very light. The bag is thinner than paper brittle plastic. The kind that doesn't last over time. Too bad because it actually would be nicer had it been another less cheap material. The strap is nice and l like it. It took a long time to arrive from Canada. Over all for 20 bucks and the patience to wait for it to arrive, it's good as a learning ukelele. It's got a pretty color that is my favorite thing about it.

Simple little ukulele for the price

It didn't sound amazing but it wasn't the ukulele's fault!

I got this because I meant to try to learn how to play the instrument and I was too afraid to spend too much money on a legit musical instrument. It made a huge difference because I was never afraid of taking it places and played it nonstop which made me develop some musical skills. I only retired it once my now husband gave me a better ukulele. I'd recommend this one in particular to anyone who is eager to get their hands on anything just to start learning. It was my favorite object for a year and I gave it to a friend so she could also learn once I got a different one. Ukuleles are awesome, just buy it!

Good starter uke

I bought this for my niece two years ago, and it has served her well. She is still playing it, and it sounds decent. It's a good starter instrument if you don't want to spend a lot, but (as with so many things in life) you get what you pay for. It doesn't feel terribly sturdy, and the finish on the wood makes it look more like plastic. She has been diligent in caring for her uke, so it still looks like new. Since she is still going strong with her music, I plan to buy her an upgrade for Christmas this year.

It's great but it scratches easily and the case it comes with isn't really protective. Overall it sounds good so i'm happy with it.

Better than expected

For a $20 uke, it's not bad. I guess it's kinda a shot in the dark if you get a bad one or a decent one. I've had mine since November, and the only thing I've noticed is the coloring wearing off on the neck where I play, plus some scratches where I've knocked it on things. It took a bit to get it to stay in tune, and even now it still needs tuning quite a bit, but it works. Obviously not the kind of ukulele you'd perform with, but it's nice for playing at home. The neck is short and the frets closer to the body all sound the same when played, but it's $20.

Great beginner ukulele

I bought this as a gift for my 6-year-old daughter because she has wanted a ukulele for a while. It came with a simple carrying case and a pick (which was instantly lost). The ukulele sounds good, but it didn't hold its tune well. I've heard that I just need to replace the strings, but I haven't had time to do that yet, so we retune constantly. Aside from the sound, the instrument is strong and has fallen down stairs and been stepped on multiple times by a two year old and hasn't cracked or scratched. I don't think this would be a good ukulele if you already know what you are doing, but as a beginner instrument it works great.

Really good value as kid's ukulele. Not as rich sounding as my ukulele. Needs tuned fairly often, but will hold tune for hours.
