  • non slip solution for old basement stairs

I acquired these stair treads after a recent fall on my wooden staircase to the basement, which inflicted some painful damage to my back. I needed something that was both safer and less likely to harm my stairs than what I currently have. These treads satisfy both requirements; they make the steps safer while preserving the old timber stairs. The only drawback to adding any kind of tread to your stairs is that it adds another cleaning task to your to-do list. The treads trap dirt and need to be washed and vaccumed. That is, however, a tiny price to pay to ensure that you, your family, friends, and pets are not damaged. There is adhesive or stick to these treads. I have discovered that before placing these on the step, wipe it down and allow to dry if damp and then I must peel off a tiny plastic sheet from the back.

  • OK runners, but they don\'t sick well

The runners seem pretty good, but they don\'t stick well to wooden steps. I had to buy carpet tape to get the edges to stay down. I cleaned each step with dawn and made sure they were rinsed/wiped down well. Then to be sure, I wiped each step down with isopropyl alcohol and allowed them to air dry. When I applied each runner, I used a carpet installer\'s seam roller to ensure adhesion and still, each corner is rolling up immediately after install.
