Unit works great and was easy to install. Had a professional shorten and braze the copper lines, other than that my son and I installed it ourselves.

What does the dry setting do? I'm looking to only control humidity in my garage. Will the dry setting do the job?

Under dehumidification mode, it cannot change the humidity, it is fixed. It doesn't refer to a precise humidity level like with a dedicated dehumidifier. The air conditioner's dehumidification function works differently and isn't as accurate. The actual humidity level largely depends on the room size. For example, in a smaller space like a 10–15 sqm bedroom, it might reduce humidity to around 40%. In a larger area, such as a 30 sqm living room, the humidity would likely stay around 50%.
